Research and Development Engineer (m/f/d) – Fiber Lasers and Amplifiers

TOPTICA Photonics SAS research and development department is involved since 2014 in a common laboratory with the LP2N (Laboratoire Photonique Numérique et Nanoscience, CNRS) called Starlight+: www.lp2n.institutoptique.fr/labcom/labcom-starlight where both academic and industrial people work together for pushing the state of the art of our field.

Your profile:

We are looking for a research and development engineer (Ph.D.in optics/laser preferred) with expertise on fiber amplifier and fiber lasers for creating and developing new architectures in phase with application requirements.

Job description:

  • Key role in study and development of new fiber amplifiers and nonlinear optics architectures to tackle technological and fundamental challenges in low noise high power laser systems.
  • Key role in prototype conceptions close to final product configuration in collaboration with electronical and mechanical design offices.
  • Technical expert for efficient technological transfer with industrialisation and production teams.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D.in optics/laser or related field
  • Experience with fiber manipulation (splicing, recoating,…)
  • Prior experience in optics/photonics preferred
  • Able to work independently and as a team player. Ideal candidate will be a driven, motivated, self-starter
