Helmholtz Award using TOPTICA Lasers

ǀ  TOPTICA Tuesday

Axel Beyer and Lothar Maisenbacher, scientists of the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics have received the Helmholtz Award for "precision measurements in fundamental research". Using high precision laser spectroscopy of atomic hydrogen, they were able to confirm the small value of the proton radius determined from muonic hydrogen. This important milestone towards "solving the proton puzzle" was achieved using TOPTICA frequency-converted diode lasers.

We enjoy seeing our lasers producing spectacular results and we congratulate the winners of one of the most prestigious European prizes in the field of metrology. For more information you find the official press release of the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics here.
