DFC RF TUNE

Tunable RF reference for difference frequency comb

Tune your locked difference frequency comb with DFC RF TUNE, our stable yet tunable reference frequency. Gain the freedom to shift, adjust and explore. Smooth electronic tuning lets you move comb teeth by several gigahertz without ever losing the RF lock, giving you precision and flexibility with this elegant add-on to TOPTICA's DFC CORE +.

From molecular spectroscopy to frequency distribution networks, micro resonator characterization and length standard calibration, DFC RF TUNE brings stability and tunability together and turns them into a powerful tool for your next experiment.

Your Benefits

Absolute frequency stability through robust RF locking
DFC RF TUNE translates a 10 MHz input signal (e.g. from DFC GPS) into a low-noise 800 MHz output signal to which the comb's repetition rate can be stabilized to.

Wide electronic tuning without losing lock
DFC RF TUNE enables a pure electronic tuning of the comb's repetition rate while staying RF-locked. Stabilize a laser to your RF-locked frequency comb and shift the comb teeth by up to 10 GHz.
Precise monitoring of the comb repetition rate
DFC RF TUNE offers an 800 MHz input port to which the 800 MHz output of the DFC CORE + (4x frep) can be connected. The repetition rate is mixed down to 20 MHz which can be precisely measured with a frequency counter (e.g. DFC COUNT+). This allows for precise knowledge of the repetition rate of a comb that's locked to an optical reference (e.g. a fiber link or a clock laser) which is essential to determine the absolute frequency of lasers locked to the comb.
