Using TOPTICA´s novel SAFE technology, the new variant DL pro SMC (Single Mode Control) can find the center of the closest single mode plateau at a desired operating point at the touch of a button. The laser can then remain on this single mode plateau (SMC Lock) through an active stabilization of the external modes of the cavity onto the internal modes even under changing environmental conditions. The SAFE technology is based on TOPTICA´s proven DL pro resonator, adding a SMC detection unit. The detected signal changes with e.g. varying temperature, humidity and air pressure, thus enabling to implement a control loop for stabilizing the laser modes and avoiding mode-hops.
Our care-free laser system for quantum computing – the DL pro SMC - offers extended active mode stability with our SAFE technology. It saves settling time in experiments and makes commercial quantum computers resistant to mode hopping. The available wavelength range extends to the blue spectral region.
In the example image, The DL pro SMC demonstrates exceptional long-term frequency stability when locked to Rubidium 87 using TOPTICA’s CoSy frequency stabilization system. Over an extended 40-day measurement period, the laser maintained a stable frequency lock, demonstrating the robustness and reliability of the system for demanding quantum applications.
