Laser Production Engineer (m/f/d)

The Laser Engineer will be responsible for the manufacture and repair of a wide range of TOPTICA laser systems and optical subassemblies.

  • Assemble, align, and test a variety of laser systems, including a continuous wave optical parametric oscillator (CW-OPO)
  • Record and maintain data to verify the performance and quality of these laser systems
  • Follow documented manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Identify technical problems during manufacturing, and contribute to solutions to these problems
  • Set up and calibrate lab equipment and test fixtures
  • Repair or rework existing laser systems that do not meet customer requirements and specifications
  • Periodic travel to TOPTICA’s headquarters in Munich for training


Qualified applicants should have:

  • Degree in Physics, Optics/Photonics, or a related scientific discipline is a must (MS preferred, BS required)
  • Prior experience and skill in hands-on work with cw and/or ultrafast lasers and optical techniques
  • Detail-oriented with a high standard of quality
  • Able to work independently and as a team player. Ideal candidate will be a driven, motivated, self-starter.
  • Unrestricted right to work in the United States
