HUSKY Reference Drive Blu-ray / 405nm

- Reference drive for Blu-ray disc offline testing
- Ultra-stable performance
- 100 % compliant with standards
- All servo signals
- All HF analog signals (equalized, non-equalized)
- For single and double layer disks
- 100 % comparability
- RS 232 control incl. graphical user interface
The Husky reference drive was developed and is produced by TOPTICA. It is designed as a barebone solution that is ideally suited for integration into test equipment.
The optical, mechanical and electronic setup strictly follows the specifications in the standard books of the various formats, whereas all components – even the pickup – are manufactured by TOPTICA. This ensures a long term product comparability.
The platform-like product design ensures the quick adaption to new upcoming format variations at low R&D and manufacturing costs. The very rugged mechanical setup together with the specially developed high precision spindle motor guarantees an excellent positioning accuracy in the µm regime.
The optical pick-up-head made from stainless steel is equipped with an NA=0.85 lens system for Blu-ray discs. A range of optical adjustments like automatic tilt correction and SA compensation ensure a lowest jitter optical read-out of the disc structure.
Stable servos are guaranteed by astigmatic focusing and push-pull-tracking. The signal is analyzed by a latest generation quad detector suited for violet wavelengths, providing the customer the 5 different analog optical signals (A,B,C,D, Sum). The complete board of signals includes other direct analog signals (e.g. focus error, track error, tangential push pull) as well as digitally processed analog signals (e.g. equalized HF, DPD). A range of RS232 commands and a basic software called "Drive Tamer" gives access to all basic operational disc parameters.
Hence test equipment manufacturers can easily integrate the Husky into their testers and analyze the analog output with their system software. Testing speed is 1X.
