TOPTICA presents powerful Multi Laser Engine iChrome MLE

Most compact system for multi-color microscopy and cytometry applications.

TOPTICA Photonics presents the most compact and powerful multi laser engine: The iChrome MLE – a true and complete OEM solution for demanding multi-color applications in biophotonics. Up to four different lasers, covering a wide range of wavelengths from 405 nm to 660 nm can be selected to match the specific application. Two versions of the system are available: an all-diode laser system, the iChrome MLE-S, comprising up to 4 different diode lasers and the iChrome MLE-L, which includes up to 3 diode lasers and a DPSS laser in one single box. The individual lasers are efficiently combined yielding highest power levels and delivered free beam or through one single mode, polarization maintaining fiber (all-in-one PM/SM fiber output). The standard wavelength selection encloses 405 nm (50 mW), 445 nm (25 mW), 488 nm (30 mW), 532 nm (30 mW), 561 nm (30 mW) and 640 nm (50 mW) – the given powers are after single-mode fiber delivery.

TOPTICA’s ingenious COOLAC technology automatically aligns the system with a single push of a button, completely eliminating the need for manual readjustments. COOLAC guarantees true drop-shipment capability, push-button installation and exceptional long term operational stability. With the most compact footprint (201 x 250 x 110 mm³ for the iChrome MLE-S and 295 x 250 x 110 mm³ for the iChrome MLE-L, both with integrated electronics) and equipped with flexible communication interfaces (RS 232, TCP/IP,…) the iChrome MLE clearly stands out from the competition – being the most advanced true one-box OEM solution in the market.

The microprocessor controlled system enables flexible OEM integration in instruments such as microscopes or flow cytometers for demanding cell biology applications requiring multiple wavelengths. High speed analogue (1 MHz) and digital modulation (20 MHz) allows fast switching of laser wavelengths and intensities for minimal exposure of the sample reducing phototoxicity and bleaching.
