Based on TOPTICA's proprietary know-how, the iWave combines high power and narrow linewidth. Frequent applications in semiconductor industry will benefit from this product. For instance, thin Silicon layers can be examined by Raman microscopy with great spatial and spectral resolution. Beyond Raman, there are many linewidth sensitive optical setups which relied on the inherent narrow linewidth of gas lasers. Further key applications besides Raman spectroscopy, which benefit from narrow linewidth, are Interferometry and Holography. Whenever the standard coherence length of free running diodes (100 to 300 microns) is not enough, the iWave offers an improved coherence by factor 10.Moreover, instruments using an acousto-optic deflector (AOD) prefer a laser with narrow linewidth. Because of the wavelength-dependent beam deflection, only narrow linewidth lasers achieve smallest nodes and focus diameters. Broader linewidth results in blurred imaging results on the substrate. |
