- 775 or 1550 nm
- Up to 2 x 350 mW
- Optional: ECOPS technique replacing mechanical delay line
Pulsed terahertz radiation generated with femtosecond lasers consists of ultrashort electromagnetic wavepackets with a broad spectrum in the terahertz range. The most established emitter technologies are based on GaAs antennas, for which a laser excitation wavelength around 800 nm is required. Other common generation mechanisms for terahertz radiation, also at 1550 nm, include intra-pulse difference frequency generation or optical rectification in nonlinear crystals or at surfaces. The detection schemes are based on optical sampling of the terahertz wave form. The technique of electronically controlled optical sampling (ECOPS) removes the need for a scanning optical delay line. Tests indicate that TOPTICA's FemtoFiber technology provides the most suitable lasers for time-domain terahertz spectroscopy.
Further explanations can be found in the Lasers for Terahertz brochure. |
