Diode lasers for LIDAR
LIDAR stands for "Light Detection and Ranging". It is an optical remote sensing technology which analyses the properties of scattered light to find range or other information about a distant target. In most applications, pulsed lasers are used, and the range to an object is determined by measuring the time delay between transmission of a pulse and detection of the reflected signal.
