Iodine Spectrum Calculating Software:
IodineSpec 4
The easy-to-use software that helps you calculate the I2 spectrum for your required wavelength range. |
IodineSpec calculates the molecular Iodine spectrum using data based on the well known Iodine Atlas, on high precision measurements of hyperfine splittings, and on a large set of absolute frequencies.
IodineSpec calculates the absorption spectrum of the iodine molecule, taking into account the hyperfine structure of each rotational transition. An easy-to-use keyboard oriented menu allows you to select the various commands for calculation or display the spectra. To enable direct comparison with your measurement, parameters like temperature and hyperfine linewidth can be adjusted to your experimental conditions. Low resolution Doppler-broadened rotational spectra can be displayed as well as high resolution hyperfine spectra.
The calculated data together with assigned quantum numbers are given out as a text file for later use. The displayed spectra can be saved as HPGL files for further arrangements.
The overall uncertainty of the calculated line frequencies is less than 25 MHz in the range from 515 nm to 815 nm. A high precision prediction range is given from 776 nm to 815 nm with an uncertainty for selected lines of less than 0,2 MHz. That gives you a dense grid of accurate frequencies for absolute calibration of your measurements. |

The following data are used for the calculation: |
- Iodine Atlas [1, 2]
- high precision measurements of hyperfine splittings and absolute frequencies
in the near infrared between 815nm and 778nm [3-8]
- high precision data on hyperfine structure and absolute line frequencies from literature [see references in 8, 9, 10]
- IodineSpec 4 runs under Windows 95/98 or under Windows NT/2000.
