With the SYNC & PLL options, the pulse trains of FemtoFiber lasers are synchronized to other pulsed instruments such as accelerators, other lasers, or clock signals. The SYNC option comprises a Piezo actuator and a motorized translation stage that enable fast adjustment of the length of the fiber oscillator. The electronic feedback loop of the PLL option ensures that the pulse train of the FFS remains in phase with the reference signal with a very low rms-jitter value below 100 fs (10 Hz - 100 kHz).

A user-friendly graphical interface on a laptop computer controls and monitors the synchronization. The voltage on the phase-delay input port sets the timing of the laser pulses with respect to the reference signal. It allows electronic control of the delay in a pump-probe or optical sampling experiment (ECOPS).
